The easiest day for us to watch the blue angels fly is the practice session the day before the big airshow. The only problems this year...Nate was working and the beaches have oil so the kids can't go in the water. So I decided, (after going to the gym and wearing myself out!), that I would brave the heat and take the kids by myself to the national park by our house. The view wasn't as good, but the parking was easy and there was no traffic. We set up on the deck area and had a picnic lunch. We attempted using the beach umbrella for shade, it worked pretty well, but it did try to blow away a few times! We got there about 1 1/2 hours before the blue angels started, we watched some other planes first and Kaden made friends with another family who he kept entertained for a while. By the time the blue angels flew, Kaden had lost interest, and Asa Jack and I were so hot that after we watched for a little bit we gave up before the end and headed for cold drinks at Sonic!
